Why see Ghost - The Musical?

Ghost - The Musical is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Walking back to their apartment one night, Sam and Molly are mugged, leaving Sam murdered on a dark street. Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and unable to leave Molly who he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her.

The original motion picture (starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayz) on which this musical is based won an Academy Award for Best Film in 1990 when it was released. Over twenty years later, the story continues to bring audiences to tears with its bittersweet tale of love , loss and of course THAT pottery scene.

This tour sees the hit Broadway production of Ghost finally hit the road, taking it's unforgettable music, sets and story around the USA. The musical features an original pop score from multiple Grammy Award-winners Dave Stewart, one half of the 80s pop duo the Eurythmics, and Glen Ballard, co-writer with Alanis Morissette the multi-platinum album Jagged Little Pill.

Good but REALLY Loud

Yes, worth seeing. Seats good. Would not take children without noise-protection. Take Mother. Didn't eat nearby this time but there are lots of good choices. Inventive and interesting use of technology and special affects. The second act was much tighter and better put together than the first. The singing was over-miked so that words were really distorted. When the volume was turned down, it was effective and there wasn't a sound in the audience. So the contrast was effective. The Pantages is a magnificent theatre and has a lovely bar with a great alcohol selection but rather than wanting to be there and schmooze a bit, the volume of the techno-beat music there drove us out. You've got to want a drink really bad to stop in. Many left before the curtain call and I thought maybe they'd never been to a play before but decided it was just people trying to get a leg up on getting out of the parking lot. ... Read more

Great night at the theater

Just saw Ghost at the Pantages as part of my annual subscription. I certainly found it to be one of the most entertaining shows I can remember recently with talented cast and creative staging. Reading some of the old reviews from the NY production and, presumably the earlier cities in this tour, I can only imagine that some of these so called "professional" critics did not see the same production as I did tonight, or they are jaded by the nostalgia of the movie and refused to open their eyes to enjoy the experience of a new and vibrant cast and stage presentation of a classic story. ... Glad we went on a snowy saturday

This is the best show we saw in years, not a dull moment, if you blink your eyes, you'd miss something. the only regret I had was about the theme song - unchained melody - it was sang two times, each time it was interrupted by knocking of the door the duet was beautiful, if they would finish the song, it'd be perfect. it’s a great show, we were glad we went, despite of the snowy weather. ...
