First Hamilton, then Dear Evan Hansen, and now The Prom! The hit Broadway musical is next in-line to get a movie-version made. Though if we're being honest, casting for The Prom has got us all starry-eyed! Hollywood icon Meryl Streep will star alongside household names like Nicole Kidman, James Corden and Andrew Rannells.

Luckily, the movie managed to get most of its shooting done before the C-word struck and basically shut down the film and theater industry across the world. So it seems the producers had plenty of time over lockdown to perfect this prom for your viewing pleasure. And, word has it that ALL of the songs from the original stage musical have made it in!

The Prom garnered a cult following when it premiered on Broadway in October 2018, wowing critics and fans alike with its welcoming message and high-energy production. A hit with New York audiences, it garnered seven 2019 Tony Award nominations and won the 2019 Drama Desk award for Outstanding Musical.
