After dazzling Broadway audiences in 2024 (and earning seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical), Water for Elephants has officially hit the road, kicking off its first national tour in Baltimore.

About Water For Elephants

Based on Sara Gruen's beloved novel, Water for Elephants follows a man who runs away from his old lifeonly to find himself swept into the chaotic, heart-stopping world of a traveling circus. The musical, featuring a book by Rick Elice (Peter and the Starcatcher) and music and lyrics by PigPen Theatre Co. (The Tale of Despereaux), reimagines the story first brought to the screen in the 2011 film starring Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson, and Christoph Waltz. The Broadway run at the Imperial Theatre saw 25 previews and 301 performances before the show packed its trunks for the open road.

The tour is directed by Ryan Emmons, recreating the original direction by Tony nominee Jessica Stone (Kimberly Akimbo), with stunning circus design by Shana Carroll and choreography by Carroll and Jesse Robb.
