The beginnings of Brooklyn-based trio The Lone Bellow flowed from founding member Zach Williams pen as a response to personal tragedy following his wife's temporary paralysis after a horse-riding accident. When she thankfully made a full recovery, the couple moved to New York, where Williams turned his heartfelt songs into a full-fledged band with the addition of Kanene Donehey Pipkin and Brian Elmquist.
The Canadian folk and alt-rock singer is known for his progressive messages for social justice, the environment, politics, and welcoming spirituality, as much as he is for the sheer volume of material put out over 40 years. With over 300 songs recorded for 30 album releases, this hard-working rocker has seen 20 of these records achieve platinum status. With his 2014 autobiography, Rumours of Glory: A Memoir praised for its eloquence and humanity, Cockburn represents the best of the Canadian spirit.
